MED-EL AudioLink XT
MED-EL AudioLink XT
The MED-EL AudioLink XT is a device used to wirelessly transmit audio from various audio sources directly to the audio processor. Transmission uses the ASHA (Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids) Bluetooth Low Energy protocol. The device is primarily dedicated to the MED-EL Sonnet 3 processor. It also works with other MED-EL processors equipped with AudioStream, such as Sonnet (including the EAS version), Sonnet 2 (including the EAS version), and Rondo 3.
AudioLink XT can stream sound to 1 or 2 hearing devices, e.g., to a MED-EL Sonnet 3 processor and a hearing aid compatible with the ASHA protocol.
Scenarios where AudioLink XT can be used:
- as a remote microphone,
- as a remote telecoil receiver (receiving from external induction loops, e.g., in a cinema, theatre, or public office),
- streaming audio received from an external FM transmitter, e.g., an FM microphone (special FM adapter for AudioLink XT included),
- streaming audio from a TV connected to AudioLink XT via cable*,
- streaming audio from a mobile device (e.g., phone) connected to AudioLink XT via cable.
* When connecting to a TV, the cable can be plugged into the headphone output or the RCA output, which usually allows the TV’s built-in speakers to remain active.
